International Gobi Marathon 2010

Day 1 Ulaanbaatar – Dalanzadgad – Yol valley - Bayanzag

Pick up at your hotel and transfer to airport, take a flight to Dalanzadgad, the center of Umnugobi province. Upon arrival we will drive to Yolyn Am (Eagle Valley). The areas we will be visiting are situated in the Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park, which encompasses the 'Three Beauties' peaks and the eastern-most points of the Altai Mountains. Afternoon we will travel to Bayanzag saxaul forest. For dinner you will enjoy traditional meal "Khorkhog", truly Mongolian barbeque, grilled with hot stones in metal urn. Stay overnight in Ger camp. LD


Day 2 Visit nomadic family

You will visit local nomad family who breed herd of camels, horses, goats and sheep. We can learn their lifestyle such as how to milking camel and how to do khoormog, healthy drink which fermented by camel cows' milk. Trek to red "Flaming Cliffs" about 2hours. Visit a nomad family to enjoy riding camels is possible. Afternoon is free time at the camp for having rest and bit preparation for the marathon at the next day. Stay overnight in Ger camp. BLD


Day 3 International Gobi Marathonkkk

On this exciting day, the ninth "INTERNATIONAL GOBI MARATHON" will take place at Gobi, the most impressive part of the landscape where camels roaming over Golden sand dunes, sun rises from wide open desert steppe that holds many trilling surprises. The ground is hard sand and quite good for running. During the whole way nomadic people and their traditional felt dwelling - Ger and herds could be seen and even they would enjoy the race with you. Have a great run of 26.2 miles / 42.195 km through dramatic cliffs and valleys, rolling sand dunes, world wide known famous Saxaul forest of the Gobi and feel the emptiness & endlessness of Mongolia in the cradle of dinosaurs. Evening we will have a joyful Gala Dinner followed by ceremony of awarding winners by the medal "GOLDEN GOBI". All participants would enjoy the ceremony with nomads. Stay overnight in Ger camp. BLD


Day 4 Bayanzag - Dalanzadgad – Ulaanbaatar

Travel back to Dalanzadgad and flight back to Ulaanbaatar. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to your hotel. End of the service. B


Included: All activities described in the itinerary, Ger camp stay (3 nights) in the countryside, English speaking guide service, Marathon fee, entrance fees to Protected Areas, RT domestic flight, all transfers by 4WD Russian mini van in the countryside. Meals of breakfast, lunch and dinner as mentioned per day itinerary.
Excluded: International transportation to and from Mongolia, travel insurance, hotel stay in Ulaanbaatar, alcoholic drinks, tips and gratuities, laundry and items of a personal nature.

• We are happy to arrange your hotel and transfers in Ulaanbaatar, private car transportation to our destinations at discounted rate.
• International and domestic flight and train tickets would be arranged due to the clients' requests and wishes with our pleasures.
• City sightseeing tours are offered as optional.
