Day 1 Birding in Gun Galuut Nature Reserve
Travel to Gun Galuut Nature Reserve, for 130kms to the southeast of Ulaanbaatar. Common Raven, Black-eared Kites, and Daurian Jackdaws can be viewed on the way. Gun-Galuut Nature Reserve has numerous of lakes where you can view several species of water birds. Stay overnight in tent. LD

Day 2 Bird watching
Today we will bird watching at the lakes Ayaga & Ikh-Gun. Enjoy observing birds of gulls, ducks, geese, swans, cranes, storks in their natural habitat as well as Great Crested Grebe, Ruddy Shelduck, Northern Shoveler, Common Shelduck, Black-tailed Godwit, Wood Sandpiper, and Common Goldeneye, Citrine Wagtails, and Northern Lapwings can be found around the lakes of Ikh Gun and Ayaga. Stay overnight in tent. BLD

Day 3 Bird watching around Uglugch Wall
Travel to Uglugch Ecolodge in the Batshireet soum. Drive will take 5-6hours about 250kms through Baganuur, a city based on a big coal mining deposit and on the way visit nomad family and taste traditional dairy products such as Aaruul-curdled milk dried in outside by the sun, Suutei tsai-salty milk tea, Boortsog- homemade butter biscuits fried in oil and so on. Stay overnights in Uglugch Ecolodge. BLD

Day 4-5 Bird watching

Bird watching through the Uglugch valley and exploring beautiful flowers covered the valley. Stay overnight in Uglugch Ecolodge. Stay overnight  BLD

Day 6-7 Bird watching around Khurkh steppe
Travel to wide open steppe of Khurkh, the cradle of Mongolian people, and nomadic civilization. Bird species of steppe areas will be viewing along our way through the great valley. Visit nomadic families to experience their warm hospitality once again. Stay overnight in tent. BLD

Day 8 Bird watching & visit Baldan Bereeven monastery
Travel to ruin of Baldan Bereeven monastery about 3-4hours for 100kms. We will visit the site and explore all the magic around it, another great spot for birding. Surrounded by forested mountain the area has rich flora and fauna where many species of birds can be observed. Stay overnight in tent. BLD

Day 9-10 Bird watching around Khukh lake
Travel to Khukh lake in Terelj National Park about 70kms. The charming area belongs to mountainous forest-valley landscape of Khan Khentii. Over 200 species of birds such as Demoiselle Crane, Cinereous Vulture, Black Stork, Great Bustard and Spotted Woodpecker, Amur Falcon live in the park. Taking pictures and enjoy wild life of the lakeside. You will go deep into the park to find out as many bird species as possible. Stay overnight in tent. BLD

Day 11 Bird watching in Terelj National Park

Morning you will be exploring birdlife in the nature reserve. Travel to Terelj National Park about 100kms. On the way we will visit a landmark of the area, a turtle shaped rock. In the area you are able to watch birds like Oriental Cuckoo, Duck, Demoiselle Crane, Black Stork, Saker Falcon or Spotted Eagle, White-backed Woodpecker, Siberian Rubythroat, Siberian blue Robin, Dark-sided Flytatcher, Crested honey Buzzard, Hawk Owl, Pine and meadow Bunting. Stay overnight in Ger camp. BLD

Day 12 Drive to Ulaanbaatar & Farewell dinner

Travel back to Ulaanbaatar. Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to your hotel. End of the service. B

 
Included: All activities described in the itinerary, Ger camp stay (5 nights) and tent stay (6 nights) in countryside, English speaking guide service, bird watching specialist guides and field cook, all camping equipments, entrance fees to Protected Areas and sightseeing cost, all transfers by 4WD Russian minivan in the countryside.
