Carbon - less comfort ride on Mongolian ox

Traveling with ox cart is the joyful experience as considered riding Mongol taxi. It goes quite slowly but it allows you to see many different colors of the nature and gives you to feel the spirit of the area visited. Exploring nomadic life & Great Gobi


02 Aug Day 1 Travel to Khustai National Park Pick up at your hotel by 12.00pm and move to local restaurant for lunch.
Meeting with other travelers of the group. Travel for 100kms to Khustai National park. Visit the Information center, then explore the park to see wild horses. Continue travel to Ungut, ancient grave site. Stay overnight in tent. LD

03 Aug Day 2 Travel to nomad community
Travel for 190km to Gurvanbulag community of nomad herders. Upon arrival in the area you will be greeted according to Mongolian tradition and warmly welcomed to nomadic meals and tea. Cultural immersion for nomadic life. Stay overnight in Mongolian Ger of local nomad family. BLD

04 Aug Day 3 Learn nomadic technology
Start your morning with nomadic breakfast. You will experience with nomadic life and culture as being friend of family members. The hostess will show and teach you how to produce tasty and nutritious dairy products including "aaruul" dried curds, "byaslag" Mongolian cheese. You can involve in the process and get more familiar with their nature loved unique lifestyle. In the evening you will enjoy learning how to make Mongolian dish. Stay overnight in Mongolian Ger. BLD

05 Aug Day 4 Experiencing horse based culture Today you will watch how Mongolian skillful cowboys catch horses by "uurga"
- traditional wooden lasso and train an untamed horse that has never been ridden before. Milking mares and you may participate by holding the foals next to their mothers. Enjoy drinking airag, fermented mare's milk and you can churn the airag as helping to the family. You would see blending process of Mongolian traditional vodka called "Shimiin arkhi". Stay overnight in Mongolian Ger. BLD

06 Aug Day 5 Travel to Ugii lake
Continue travel to Ugii lake for 100kms. The fresh water lake which surfaces
25 sq.km areas is abundant with water birds and fishes. Walk along the lake shore for viewing bird species and taking photos. Stay overnight in tent.

07 Aug Day 6 Travel to Kharakhorum
Travel to KharaKhorum. Visit famous Erdene Zuu (Hundred Treasures) monastery, built on the remains of Kharakhorum city in 1586 by the order of Abtai Sain Khan, descendant of Chinggis Khan. It was the first Buddhist center in Mongolia. Surrounding the monastery there is a wall with 108 stupas, of which 25 are on each side and 2 at every corner of the wall. Each stupa was erected in commemoration of a particular event, related in the inscription on each one. The three temples inside the wall represent the three stages of the Buddha's life: childhood, adolescence, and adulthood.
Stay overnight in Ger camp where you can have shower and washing facilities.

08 Aug Day 7 Travel to Ongi monastery
Travel to old ruin of Ongi monastery. We will drive through open steppe as feeling Gobi Desert-scarce vegetations, dry and hot air, horizon that stretched so far. Stay overnight in tent. BLD

09 Aug Day 8 Travel to Bayanzag & walking Travel to Bayanzag for 140kms, where you will see saksaul forest, red flaming cliffs which formed from the erosion of the sand and rock over many thousands of years. Late afternoon we will walk to flaming cliffs. Stay overnight in tent. BLD

10 Aug Day 9 Travel to Khongor sand dune Drive to Khongor sand dunes for 180kms. Afternoon we will walk through the Golden sand dunes. Known as Singing sand dunes, the Khongoriin Els dunes are up to 300ms high, 15kms wide, and 180kms long. The view is incredible from top of the dunes. Stay overnight in Ger of local family. BLD

11 Aug Day 10 Camel riding
Day to experience nomadic life and culture in the Gobi! Enjoy a half day camel riding trek. Stay overnight in family Ger. BLD

12 Aug Day 11 Travel to Yol valley
Travel to Zuun Saikhan Mountain for 180kms, is picturesque place that belongs to Gobi Gurvan Saikhan Mountain Range. Stay overnight in tent. BLD

13 Aug Day 12 Day trekking in Yol valley Visit to Gobi museum. Full day of explore and trek in Yol valley. Enjoy climbing up the mountain hills and feel the silence and tranquility of the nature and heaven. Stay overnight in Ger of local family. BLD

14 Aug Day 13 Travel to Tsagaan Suvarga Continue travel to Tsagaan Suvarga about 220kms for 5-6hours. Here you will explore 30 meters high white limestone formation which created over thousands of years by natural wind and water. Stay overnight in Ger camp.

15 Aug Day 14 Travel to Baga Gazriin Chuluu Travel to Baga Gazriin Chuluu for 5-6hours about 270kms, is a picturesque mountain at an elevation of 1,751 meters in the Granite Belt of Mongolia.
Stay overnight in tent. BLD

16 Aug Day 15 Travel to Ulaanbaatar
Early morning travel for 240kms to Ulaanbaatar. On the way we will see Zorgol Khairkhan, giant rocky granite mountain as sacred by local nomads.
Transfer to your hotel. End of the service. BL

Included: All activities described in the itinerary, accommodation of tent,
local family Ger and Ger camp during the trip in countryside, English
speaking guide/cook service, entrance fees to Protected Areas, all transfers
by Russian minivan. Meals of breakfast (B), lunch (L) and dinner (D) as
mentioned per day itinerary.
Excluded: International transportation to and from Mongolia, travel
insurance, hotel in Ulaanbaatar, mineral (bottled) water and alcoholic
drinks, sleeping bag, tips and gratuities, laundry and items of a personal
nature

DSCF9736Our trip offers about nomadic life, staying with the hospitable nomads is a great way to experience real Mongolia at its best. You can stay with them for a few days to experience real nomadic culture and you can see and try dairy product making, sheep herding, mare and cow milking etc. Most of them have extra ger for their guests neighboring their ger and you will stay in their guest gers, which are roomy and comfortable. You will enjoy real nomadic delicacies and beverages and can help the nomads in their everyday work. Washing facilities are simple in nature, outhouse mainly.
